Historical Significance
Xi'an, known as Chang'an in ancient times, was the starting point of the Silk Road and served as the capital for thirteen dynasties, including the Tang and Qin. Its historical significance is evident in the many landmarks and archaeological sites spread throughout the city.
Terracotta Army
One of the most famous attractions in Xi'an is the Terracotta Army, an army of clay soldiers buried with the First Emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang. Discovered in 1974 by local farmers, the Terracotta Warriors were crafted to protect the emperor in the afterlife. The site includes thousands of life-sized statues, each with unique facial expressions and details. Visitors can explore the three main pits where the soldiers are located, as well as the exhibition hall with artifacts from the era.

Another must-see in Xi'an is the Ancient City Wall, which is one of the best-preserved city walls in China. Originally built during the Ming Dynasty, the wall offers a unique opportunity to walk or bike along the top, providing panoramic views of the city and its surroundings. The wall is about 13.7 kilometers long, and its walkable path includes several towers and gates.
